Women’s empowerment challenges gender-based discrimination and promotes women’s self-worth, choices, and influence. It fosters collaboration and support among women, reflecting an abundance mindset and a positive attitude. Women and girl’s empowerment benefits not only women, but also their families, communities, and nations, as it enhances economic growth, political stability, and social transformation.
• Economic Growth : PFTH is facilitating women in Trade to formalize the informal cross-border trade activities ; This is achieved through skills building, creation and improvement of livelihood opportunities (access to working Capital), job creation, resilience building, market linkages, information sharing, and linkages to finance institutions.
• Political Participation : PFTH includes the Leadership Mentorship Program (LMP) which targets women and girls in leadership positions at different levels (local level) and equips them with leadership, advocacy, public speaking, networking, and collaboration knowledge, skills so that women and girls shall raise their voice and participate in decision-making processes.
• Socio-EconomicTransformation : PFTH focuses on improving the trade environment, promoting gender equality and women’s rights, and achieving high levels of participation and ownership, PFTH also is enhancing prevention and response to gender-based violence, Sexual harassment exploitation, and abuse (SHEA) against women.
